Good food and festive menus are simply part of Christmas. But it's not just us who want to be spoiled with delicious food, but also our faithful companions.
With Fidelis, you now have the opportunity to treat your dog to a festive meal he won't soon forget. Our delicious Christmas menu with succulent goose, sweet butternut squash, juicy figs and aromatic cardamom is not only packed with healthy nutrients, but is also prepared with love and care by our experienced kitchen team.
For our Christmas menu, we only use fresh and high-quality ingredients in food quality. The finest goose meat is cooked slowly and gently at low temperatures. Only then do we add delicious figs, blanched crunchy vegetables such as butternut squash, sweet potatoes, Jerusalem artichokes and juicy apples and pears to the cooked food. This ensures that the taste and nutrients of the high-quality ingredients are optimally preserved. The menu is supplemented with nutrient bombs such as linseed oil, rosehip, algae lime, seaweed meal and brewer's yeast. A pinch of cardamom provides a Christmassy taste.
The goose in our Christmas menu is an excellent source of protein, which is essential for maintaining healthy muscles and bones in dogs. Butternut squash is rich in vitamins and minerals, including beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body and supports a dog's eyesight. Figs are high in fiber, which contributes to healthy digestion, and are also a good source of antioxidants, which can support a strong immune system. And the cardamom provides a delicious and aromatic Christmas flavor without adding unnecessary calories or fat.

You can find more interesting details about the individual ingredients used and their positive properties under the "What's in it and why?" tab.
Freshly cooked goose (70%)
Goose meat is very rich. It is higher in fat than other types of poultry, but this does not mean that goose is unhealthy. Goose fat, for example, contains monounsaturated fatty acids, which are classed as "healthy fats". Goose meat also provides some valuable nutrients such as potassium or magnesium, which are significantly higher here than in chicken or duck. Goose meat also contains more vitamin E than other types of poultry.
Butternut squash (10%)
Butternut squash is packed with vitamin C, magnesium and calcium.
Sweet potatoes (7%)
According to the American non-profit organization Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), sweet potatoes are considered to be the healthiest vegetable of all. The greatest benefits of sweet potatoes are their high content of phytochemicals, which protect against free radicals. They are a source of minerals and vitamins and contain a lot of high-quality fiber.
Jerusalem artichoke (5%)
Jerusalem artichokes contain healthy vitamin B, which is important for metabolism and blood formation, among other things. The minerals and trace elements contained in the root tuber include calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus.
Apple (2%)
Apples are suitable for a healthy diet because they contain many vitamins, minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, pectins and polyphenols.
Pear (2%)
Pears contain numerous vitamins (vitamins A and C and various B vitamins) and can prevent or slow down signs of ageing in dogs. They also contain a high concentration of fiber. This is beneficial for the dog's heart health and can even prevent cancer.
Figs (1%)
Figs taste sweet and nutty - they aid digestion and are low in calories. The fruit also provides many healthy nutrients: fresh figs contain many important B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9).
Linseed oil (1.9%)
Linseed oil contains a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids such as omega-3 or linoleic acid. According to scientific studies, linseed oil can have a preventative and soothing effect on diseases such as diabetes, arthrosis and high cholesterol levels. However, actual effects have not yet been sufficiently proven.
Rosehip (0.4%)
In addition to vitamin C, rosehips also contain numerous other ingredients that have a positive effect on health. These include: Fruit acids, essential oils, pectins, tannins, silicic acid, the antioxidants lycopene and flavonoids, the vitamins provitamin A, vitamin B1 and B2 as well as vitamin E, the minerals zinc, copper, sodium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and magnesium.
Algae lime (0.4%)
Algae lime consists of deposits of red algae. It contains mainly calcium carbonate, as well as magnesium carbonate and trace elements (boron, iodine, silicic acid) and thus prevents a deficiency of minerals and trace elements. The high calcium content supports the stability of bones and teeth and balances out the excess phosphorus from meat feed, which can otherwise lead to kidney problems.
Brewer's yeast (0.1%)
Brewer's yeast contains lots of vitamins and minerals and is also a good source of protein. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to keep blood sugar levels constant.
Seaweed meal (0.1%)
Seaweed meal contains many minerals such as zinc and carotenoids which support the skin metabolism and the pigmentation of the coat, nose and paw pads. The amino acid lysine optimizes feed conversion; cellulose and mannitol support digestion.
Cardamom (0.1%)
The seeds of green cardamom contain essential oils that can have a positive effect on health. Above all, the spice is said to calm the stomach, it has a relaxing and digestive effect and can help to relieve acute stomach pain.
Is everything in there?
As a specialist in healthy dog food, vet Anita Kröger makes a valuable contribution to the FIDELIS recipes and range with her ideas and experience. Anita Kröger and her team at the Center for Dog Health are enthusiastic about FIDELIS and recommend the products. In the following video, she explains what the term "complete food" is all about and whether it really is possible to optimally cover your dog's daily requirements with just one complete food.
Our cooked and then frozen menus all consist of high-quality, fresh ingredients from food production: pure muscle meat and healthy offal, fresh vegetables and fruit, selected oils and herbs, in a carefully balanced ratio, gently cooked - without high temperatures, without high pressure, and without artificial additives, preservatives, flavor enhancers and attractants.
However, as many customers have no refrigeration facilities, whether for space reasons or on vacation, we have thought about how we can preserve our fresh menus without freezing them.
It quickly became clear that sterilization in a tin can was out of the question for us. Nobody would think of offering their child food from tin cans, so why should it be any different for our dogs. And just because all manufacturers offer canned food doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
The fact that our meat in our fresh menus is pre-cooked using gentle steam cooking means that sterilization can take place at significantly lower temperatures and significantly reduced dwell times in the jar. As a result, the meat remains nice and chunky and is not overcooked into a "mush".
Due to the prior steam cooking, significantly less water escapes during sterilization, which means that the addition of artificial binders, which are used by almost all other can manufacturers, is no longer necessary. The binders used, which do not have to be declared according to the Feedstuffs Ordinance, are potential triggers for allergies or other illnesses.
By using only fresh raw materials without binding agents, our fresh food in a jar smells fresh and delicious and no longer has the typical disgusting smell of "canned food".
The gentle preparation also preserves nutrients from the healthy original ingredients much better and the addition of artificial vitamins is not necessary with a varied diet.
Our fresh menus in glass jars have even more advantages over canned food. When using glass, no metal parts or coating residues can come loose and settle in the food. The residues from tin cans in the food can cause cancer and many other diseases. Glass does not leave any residues. It is not for nothing that baby food is only available in glass.
The jars are also resealable and bad smells from opened cans in the fridge are a thing of the past.
The result: fresh-smelling, healthy, wholesome menus for a species-appropriate, varied and digestible diet for your dog. Just as practical as canned food, only much better.
Feeding recommendation
Young dog up to 8 months: approx. 4.5 %
Dog up to 15 kg: approx. 2.5 - 3 %
Dog from 15 kg: approx. 2.5 - 3 %
The % refers to your dog's body weight. Example: A dog with a weight of 20 kg and a recommended daily ration of 2.5% needs 500 g of food per day.
The following values are guide values for the amount of food for normally active, non-neutered healthy dogs. However, individual requirements may vary by up to 50% from the calculated values due to age, breed or activity. These are only starting points for estimating the daily amount of food.
Feed conversion
Fidelis recommends an immediate change of food. Skip one meal (preferably in the evening) and start directly with our food at the next meal. Feed a single flavor for the first 14 days so that the dog's stomach can get used to the food. After two weeks, we recommend alternating between different flavors.
Delivery & storage
Our fresh menus in a jar are delivered to you in protective packaging with 6 jars each. The minimum order quantity is therefore 6 jars and then always 6 more. Our fresh menus in a jar have a shelf life of at least 1 year. Once opened, we recommend storing the menus in the fridge and using them up within 3-4 days.
