Our fresh menu with 70% gently cooked duck, crispy sweet potatoes, healthy cranberries, delicious pear, sage and rosemary brings back memories of a Christmas menu. This delicacy menu is guaranteed to be a real feast for your pet at any time of year.
We only use fresh, food-grade ingredients for our fresh duck menu in our in-house manufactory. High-quality duck meat and offal are cooked slowly and gently at low temperatures. Only then do we add blanched sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, pears and cranberries, as well as linseed oil, rosehip, algae lime, brewer's yeast, seaweed meal and rosemary to the cooked food. This ensures that the flavor and nutrients are optimally preserved.
No high temperatures, no fillers, no artificial vitamin supplements, no extrusion, no sterilized cans. The result: like home-cooked, healthy food with all the nutrients from the fresh original ingredients that tastes just as good as it looks. 100% natural and 0% artificial additives. Developed with vets and made with love. Quite simply the best food for your dog. The result is an incomparable, healthy fresh meal for your dog. Just like home-cooked.

You can find more interesting details about the individual ingredients used and their positive properties under the "What's in it and why?" tab.
Freshly cooked duck (70%, of which 80% duck meat and 20% duck innards: heart, kidney, stomach)
Duck meat has only half the fat of goose meat but significantly more protein. Duck meat is rich in magnesium, which is important for your dog's muscles and nervous system. Duck meat is also remarkably high in vitamin B1 and has a beneficial effect on your dog's nerves and metabolism.
Sweet potatoes (7%)
According to the American non-profit organization Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), sweet potatoes are considered to be the healthiest vegetable of all. The greatest benefits of sweet potatoes are their high content of phytochemicals, which protect against free radicals. They are a source of minerals and vitamins and contain a lot of high-quality fiber.
Carrots (7%)
In addition to providing energy, fiber and few calories, carrots are healthy because they are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin A and biotin in particular are worth mentioning here. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body.
Peas (6%)
Peas contain many vitamins. In addition to beta-carotene, peas are particularly rich in B vitamins and also contain vitamin C. Peas also score highly in terms of minerals: Magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc make it a particularly healthy vegetable side dish.
Pear (4%)
Pears contain numerous vitamins (vitamins A and C and various B vitamins) and can prevent or slow down signs of ageing in dogs. They also contain a high concentration of fiber. This is beneficial for the dog's heart health and can even prevent cancer.
Cranberries (3%)
Cranberries have a positive effect on the bladder and urinary tract. The B vitamins they contain are also good for your dog's nerves and immune system. The berries are said to be able to inhibit cancer.
Linseed oil (1.9%)
Linseed oil is a cold-pressed vegetable oil obtained from linseed, the ripe seeds of linseed (Linum usitatissimum). Linseed oil has a high vitamin E content and an almost perfect omega-3 to omega-6 ratio. The alpha-linolenic acid it contains helps the dog to form blood and can dilate blood vessels. It also regulates blood pressure and cholesterol.
Rosehip (0.4%)
In addition to vitamin C, rosehips also contain numerous other ingredients that have a positive effect on health. These include: Fruit acids, essential oils, pectins, tannins, silicic acid, the antioxidants lycopene and flavonoids, the vitamins provitamin A, vitamin B1 and B2 as well as vitamin E, the minerals zinc, copper, sodium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and magnesium.
Algae lime (0.4%)
Algae lime consists of deposits of red algae. It contains mainly calcium carbonate, as well as magnesium carbonate and trace elements (boron, iodine, silicic acid) and thus prevents a deficiency of minerals and trace elements. The high calcium content supports the stability of bones and teeth and balances out the excess phosphorus from meat feeding, which can otherwise lead to kidney problems.
Brewer's yeast (0.1%)
Brewer's yeast contains plenty of vitamins and minerals and is also a good source of protein. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to keep blood sugar levels constant.
Seaweed meal (0.1%)
Seaweed meal contains many minerals such as zinc and carotenoids, which support the skin metabolism and the pigmentation of the coat, nose and paw pads. The amino acid lysine it contains optimizes feed conversion; cellulose and mannitol support digestion.
Sage (0.05%)
Sage has a stimulating effect on intestinal functions and the gall bladder due to its bitter substances. It promotes the production of digestive juices in your dog's stomach, so sage can help to reduce flatulence and digest fat better.
Rosemary (0.05%)
Rosemary has a digestive effect even in small amounts and can therefore be used especially for dogs with a poor appetite.
Is it all in there?
As a specialist in healthy dog food, vet Anita Kröger's ideas and experience make a valuable contribution to the FIDELIS recipes and range. Anita Kröger and her team at the Center for Dog Health are enthusiastic about FIDELIS and recommend the products. In the following video, she explains what the term "complete food" is all about and whether it really is possible to optimally cover your dog's daily requirements with just one complete food.
Our cooked and then frozen menus all consist of high-quality, fresh ingredients from food production: pure muscle meat and healthy offal, fresh vegetables and fruit, selected oils and herbs, in a carefully balanced ratio, gently cooked - without high temperatures, without high pressure, and without artificial additives, preservatives, flavor enhancers and attractants.
However, as many customers have no refrigeration facilities, whether for space reasons or on vacation, we thought about how we could preserve our fresh menus without freezing them.
It quickly became clear that sterilization in a tin can was out of the question for us. Nobody would think of offering their child food from tin cans, so why should it be any different for our dogs. And just because all manufacturers offer canned food doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
The fact that the meat in our fresh menus is pre-cooked using gentle steam cooking means that sterilization can take place at significantly lower temperatures and significantly reduced dwell times in the jar. As a result, the meat remains nice and chunky and is not overcooked into a "mush".
Due to the prior steam cooking, significantly less water escapes during sterilization, which means that the addition of artificial binders, which are used by almost all other can manufacturers, is no longer necessary. The binders used, which do not have to be declared according to the Feedstuffs Ordinance, are potential triggers for allergies or other illnesses.
By using only fresh raw materials without binding agents, our fresh food in a jar smells fresh and delicious and no longer has the typical disgusting smell of "canned food".
The gentle preparation also preserves nutrients from the healthy original ingredients much better and the addition of artificial vitamins is not necessary with varied feeding.
Our fresh menus in jars have even more advantages over canned food. When using glass, no metal parts or coating residues can come loose and settle in the food. The residues from tin cans in the food can cause cancer and many other diseases. Glass does not leave any residues. It is not for nothing that baby food is only available in glass.
The jars are also resealable and bad smells from opened cans in the fridge are a thing of the past.
The result: fresh-smelling, healthy, wholesome menus for a species-appropriate, varied and wholesome diet for your dog. Just as practical as canned food, only much better.
Feeding recommendation
Young dog up to 8 months: approx. 4.5 %
Dog up to 15 kg: approx. 2.5 - 3 %
Dog over 15 kg: approx. 2.5 - 3 %
The % refers to your dog's body weight. Example: A dog with a weight of 20 kg and a recommended daily ration of 2.5% requires 500 g of food per day.
The following values are guide values for the amount of food for normally active, non-neutered healthy dogs. However, individual requirements may vary by up to 50% from the calculated values due to age, breed or activity. These are only starting points for estimating the daily amount of food.
Change of food
Fidelis recommends an immediate change of food. Skip one meal (preferably in the evening) and start directly with our food at the next meal. Feed a single variety for the first 14 days so that the dog's stomach can get used to the food. After two weeks, we recommend alternating between different flavors.
Delivery & storage
Our Fresh Menus in a jar are delivered to you in protective packaging containing 6 jars each. The minimum order quantity is therefore 6 jars and then always 6 more. Our fresh menus in a jar have a shelf life of at least 1 year. Once opened, we recommend storing the menus in the fridge and using them up within 3-4 days.
