Autumn Delights for Your Beloved Pet! Our seasonal fresh meal combines 70% duck and venison—35% each—with select fall vegetables, fruits, and nutritious natural ingredients. Sweet potatoes, carrots, kale, zucchini, and peas are paired with fruity pears, blueberries, and cranberries. Pumpkin and sunflower seeds, brewer’s yeast, rosehip peel, seaweed meal, and seaweed lime round out the meal. The recipe is enhanced with high-quality algae oil, wheat germ oil, and a pinch of rosemary.
For our seasonal fresh menu featuring duck and venison, we use only fresh, food-grade ingredients in our in-house production facility. The meat is slowly and gently steam-cooked at low temperatures. Only then do we add the blanched vegetables, fruits, oils, seeds, and herbs—ensuring that flavor, vitamins, and minerals are preserved as much as possible.
No high temperatures, no fillers, no flavor enhancers, no preservatives, no extrusion, no sterilized cans. The result: Food that tastes like it was homemade—healthy, nutritious, and full of flavor. 100% natural, 0% artificial additives.

All of our fresh meals are made with high-quality, fresh ingredients from food production: Pure lean meat and healthy organ meats, fresh vegetables and fruit, select oils and herbs, carefully balanced in proportion and gently steam-cooked—without high temperatures, high pressure, preservatives, flavor enhancers, or attractants.
However, since many people don't have a way to refrigerate their food—whether due to limited space or while on vacation—we've been thinking about how we can preserve the freshness of our meals without freezing them.
It quickly became clear that sterilizing food in a tin can was out of the question for us as a preservation method. After all, no one would ever think of feeding their child food from tin cans—so why should it be any different for our dogs? And just because all manufacturers offer canned food doesn’t mean it’s necessarily good.
Because the meat in our fresh meal options is precooked using a gentle steaming process, it can be sterilized at significantly lower temperatures and with significantly shorter holding times in the jar. As a result, the meat retains its nice, chunky texture and isn’t overcooked into a “mushy mess.”
Because the food is pre-cooked with steam, significantly less water is released during sterilization, eliminating the need to add artificial binding agents—which are used by nearly all other can manufacturers. The thickeners used—which, according to the Animal Feed Regulation, do not need to be listed on the label—are potential triggers for allergies or other illnesses.
Because we use only fresh ingredients without any binders, our Fresh Menu in a jar smells fresh and delicious—and no longer has that typical, unpleasant “canned food” smell. In addition, the gentle preparation process helps preserve the nutrients from the healthy original ingredients much better.
Our fresh meals in jars offer additional advantages over canned food. When glass is used, no metal particles or coating residues can leach out and accumulate in the food. Residues from tin cans in food can cause cancer and many other diseases. With glass, there are absolutely no residues. It’s no coincidence that baby food is sold exclusively in glass jars.
The jars are also resealable, so unpleasant odors from opened cans in the fridge are a thing of the past.
The result: fresh-smelling, healthy, wholesome meals for a species-appropriate, varied, and easily digestible diet for your dog. Just as convenient as canned food—only much better.
Disadvantages of Other Types of Food
What sets FIDELIS fresh meals apart from other types of dog food?
Dry food (extruded / cold-pressed):
Often high in grains, animal meal, and hydrogenated fats. Contains very few fresh ingredients. Natural nutrients are lost due to high temperatures, and vitamins are added artificially. Often contains preservatives and flavor enhancers.
Wet food (canned food):
Mostly low-quality meat scraps and artificial additives. Fresh ingredients are almost entirely absent. Sterilization at 110–140 °C causes the loss of vitamins and minerals, which are then artificially added back. Often contains preservatives and flavor enhancers.
B.A.R.F. (Raw Food):
Raw meat is often heavily contaminated with bacteria—a risk to both dogs and their owners. It frequently leads to food intolerances and health problems. In addition, the protein content of many B.A.R.F. meals is too high.
Feeding Recommendations
Puppies up to 8 months old: approx. 4%
Dogs up to 15 kg: approx. 2–3%
Dogs 15 kg and older: approx. 2–2.5%
The percentage refers to your dog's body weight. Example: A dog weighing 20 kg with a recommended daily intake of 2% needs 400 g of food per day.
The values listed below are guidelines for the amount of food for healthy, unneutered dogs with normal activity levels. However, individual needs may vary by up to 50% from the calculated values depending on age, breed, or activity level. These are only starting points for estimating the daily food intake.
Diet Change
Fidelis recommends switching to the new food immediately. Skip one meal (preferably in the evening) and start with our food right away at the next meal. Feed only one variety for the first 14 days so that your dog’s stomach can get used to the food. After two weeks, we recommend alternating between different flavors.
Shipping & Storage
Our Fresh Meals in a Jar are delivered in protective packaging, with 6 jars in each package. Our Fresh Meals in a Jar have a shelf life of at least 1 year. Once opened, we recommend storing the meals in the refrigerator and consuming them within 3 days.
